I love the food they serve. Traditional Mexican dishes with all the right flavors. My favorite is the carne asada nachos. I've tried many dishes (chorizo burrito, carne asada tacos, taquitos, etc) and they were all tasty. Service is fast and to the point. Store products are over priced but the cooked foid is wonderful.
I ordered the machaca burrito and two carne asada tacos. Pretty flavorless until you add salsa or hot sauce. Plus the meat in the asada tacos seemed old. I had got there around 9:30-10 am on a Sunday, so you'd think the meat would've been a little more savory and fresh. Especially because your at a meat market that does bring in alot of clientele. At least from the foot traffic it was getting. The people behind the counter are super friendly and attentive. I sis need to speak Spanish because the accent was thick in English. So for the A holes that don't appreciate that sort of thing, don't go there unless you can be patient with the employees there. Overall, the store size is super tiny, but they do have tables outside to eat, the parking lot is tiny... so actually parking there is a bit rough. But it is in old town La Quinta, and especially on a Sunday, if you can find parking around there and walk around, you've also got a farmers market on Sunday's too. Give it a try... because all Mexican food and how people like it can be subjective - but overall, very filling, about average in price for what you get, and good traditional vibes.
Cute little place. They had everything we were looking for when we were making tamales as a first timer tamale maker. They had a lot of knickknacks and goods from Mexico that I remembered from my grandfather. A great place to get those unique flavors from Mexico.. They also have a little tiny deli area where you can get things like CarneAsada marinated meat.
If you aren't shopping at this meat market Or grabbing a Bfast burrito or Saturday Menudo...what planet are you living on!! This market will always be my go to.

Best Mexican in the area, hands down! Carne asada burrito can't be beat! Salsas are fresh and delicious. Better than most sit down Mexican restaurants.
I wish I had more time to explore other items here. I had the fish burrito and loved it. Grilled fish with rice and lots of good flavor and a good size. The breakfast burrito with steak was great too, steak slightly overcooked but I enjoyed it. I would totally come back for next Palm Springs trip. As a heads up, it gets crowded so call ahead!
Good place for groceries, meats, and takeout. Chorizo tacos and breakfast burritos are awesome.
